Capesize Operations Executive

Role overview

Marcenta is a London-based, independent dry bulk shipbroker with a genuinely AI-assisted desk feeding live Baltic index, bunker and vessel data straight into every voyage decision — not a legacy shop with a chatbot bolted on. As we grow our Capesize book, we're looking for an Operations Executive to own the post-fixture voyage lifecycle for our Capesize fleet, from NOR to final discharge, working directly with owners, charterers, agents and surveyors to keep every voyage running on schedule and on budget. Responsibilities

  • Monitor Capesize voyages from fixture through to final discharge and invoicing
  • Track laytime, demurrage and despatch calculations for load and discharge ports
  • Liaise with agents, surveyors and terminals on ETA, NOR and berthing status
  • Review and manage bills of lading, statements of fact and charter party documentation
  • Flag discrepancies early and support dispute resolution alongside the chartering desk

What we are looking for

  • Experience in dry bulk post-fixture operations, ideally on Capesize tonnage
  • Strong grasp of laytime, demurrage and charter party terms
  • Highly organised, detail-oriented and comfortable managing multiple live voyages
  • Clear written communication for owner, charterer and agent correspondence
